Tales Of Brave Ulysses

East of the Sun, West of the Moon

Photos from yesterday’s outrigger race, a 10 mile run from the Hagåtña Boat Basin up to Oka Point, then down to Camel Rock and back up to the Boat Basin. The ladies went first, then the men raced later in the morning. It was a good race, I enjoyed it immensely.

I SING the Body electric;
The armies of those I love engirth me, and I engirth them;
They will not let me off till I go with them, respond to them,
And discorrupt them, and charge them full with the charge of the Soul.

Was it doubted that those who corrupt their own bodies conceal themselves;
And if those who defile the living are as bad as they who defile the dead?
And if the body does not do as much as the Soul?
And if the body were not the Soul, what is the Soul?

I wish I had a better camera with a telephoto lens. I took some photos of the women coming back from the turning buoy, but they were to far out to sea to be worthwhile. I didn’t get any pictures of the finish because I was up at the mouth of the Boat Basin without my camera when they came back in. And of course I got no pictures of the men’s race, since I was in it.
